The international symposium “Methodologies for Measuring the Effectiveness of Culture and Arts Education and Global Standards” took place in Seoul, Republic of Korea (South Korea), on May 21, as part of UNESCO Culture and Arts Education Week 2026.
Susanne Keuchel, Chair of ENO, was invited to deliver a keynote address at the event. In her presentation, “Approaches to Measuring the Impact of Arts Education in Europe,” she outlined various methods for measuring the impact and objectives of arts and cultural education. She discussed the respective advantages and disadvantages and highlighted different approaches to the comparative international monitoring of arts and cultural education.
In addition to Susanne Keuchel, Anne Bamford from the University of Sydney presented an updated version of her 2006 UNESCO study, “The Wow Factor.” Twenty years after the study’s initial publication, she once again reviewed the global state of arts and cultural education across various countries.
Prior to the symposium, there was an in-depth professional exchange with the organizing body—the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service (KACES)—regarding potential opportunities for collaboration with ENO.
